John has spent over 30 years in the fitness field as an instructor, trainer and physical therapist. He earned a degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University, a Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology from UMASS Boston, and completed a yearlong postgraduate residency program in Orthopedic Manual Therapy.
John has served as a guest lecturer for the Harvard University Wellness Center in their Medical Symptom Reduction/Stress Management Program and provided training services to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital medically supervised Weight Reduction Program. In 2010, he was a research participant in the two-year CALERIE II USDA study of energy metabolism and longevity.
Out of these experiences, John was inspired to create Soma Science® and in 2012 opened the first The Well Effect® Center in Bedford, MA.

Kara Healey
Kara has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University with rehabilitation expertise across many settings. She has been helping people achieve their health and fitness goals for over 10 years.
With a varsity sports background including soccer, basketball, track and field and crew, Kara had gravitated to primarily running prior to coming to Well Effect®. She has been amazed at how adding body balancing, food balancing and targeted strength training, using a Soma Science® approach, has helped her with her running. The nagging pains that she had come to accept as inevitable are no longer a part of her life.
She is excited at the possibilities afforded her to more effectively help other learn and apply Soma Science® based skills! Kara is originally from Auburn, Maine.

Seyla Touch
Seyla earned a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
With additional background in Strength and Conditioning, fitness and health research, and coursework in the McKenzie Method for back pain, he enjoys solving the riddle of recurrent injuries for clients. His treatment philosophy is to empower clients by educating them about their situation with an emphasis on functional exercises to correct muscular imbalance and restore movement patterns.
As he has begun guiding clients to reach their goals using the Soma Science® approach, he is excited to see them achieve Whole Health Fitness. Seyla enjoys playing and coaching soccer, hiking, and exploring the world.

Angela Frank
Angela received an undergraduate degree from Boston College and her Masters from Columbia University. She knows firsthand what it takes to succeed, be it to improve health with lifestyle changes, training for a Century bike ride, preparing for a triathlon, or just finding a way to deal with whatever everyday life brings.
She has a passion and enthusiasm for fitness and health, both physically and mentally, and is excited to coach clients and share that passion. She starts with your strengths as a foundation to build from and begins to incorporate small meaningful strategies to align you behaviors to help you reach your goals. By focusing effort on overcoming key challenges you explore difficult issues and move towards a resolution that effectively helps you reach and maintain your goals and build a healthier and more balanced life.
She looks forward to help you explore and overcome any barriers that stand in your way of achieving goals and becoming your healthiest self. Together you’ll develop tools and the skills you need to attain your personal goals.

Andrea Coyne-Murphy
Andrea has been a Physical Therapist since graduating Northeastern University with her doctorate. She brings over 13 years of prior experience to Well Effect working in outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehab, and home health care. She enjoys working with various age groups and makes an effort to know her patients/clients to better assist them with achieving the best version of themselves.
Andrea is a busy mom with a passion for health, wellness and fitness and is excited to find a setting that allows her to bring her technical competence, passion for helping people and her personal health interests in one setting. As an adult, she has enjoyed kickboxing, HIIT classes, yoga, Pilates and strength training. Andrea has been using the Soma Science approach to improve her own health by learning more about the importance of strength training and the impact of macro nutrients consumed affecting the body.

Stephanie Sprout
Stephanie has a background in Psychology and Physical Therapy and has extensive experience working as a Physical Therapist in a rehabilitation in-patient hospital and out-patient physical therapy settings.
She has taught wellness, group exercise, Pilates, Yoga, cardio, strength training, and balance classes for a variety of ages and abilities. Stephanie is an avid skier, surfer and hiker who has been able to apply the principles of Soma Science® and conquer nagging injuries and a lifelong struggle maintain a healthy weight.
She is passionate about motivating and guiding clients toward their goals for Whole Health Fitness. Stephanie is on personal leave at this time.
